71st Highlanders in the American Revolution

Front Cover 71The British recruited the 71st Regiment of Foot in the Scottish Highlands and sent the regiment to America in 1776.

The regiment fought at Brooklyn, Brandywine, Savannah (twice), Brier Creek, Stono, Charleston, Camden, Charlotte, Cowpens, Guilford Courthouse and Yorktown.

Appendixes include information on the organization of the regiment and biographical sketches of Archibald Campbell, Charles Campbell, William Erskine, Roderick Mackenzie, Aeneas Mackintosh of Mackintosh, Duncan Macpherson of Cluny, John Maitland, Archibald McArthur, Robert Jackson, and Francis Skelly.
